Start-up check: Handelsblatt presents young companies every Friday – this time the focus is on Crowdfox’s innovation potential.
Christof Kerkmann, editor at Handelsblatt, has been observing Crowdfox for several months. He took a close look at customers such as BASF SE and Rational AG, examined the entry of Dr. Marcell Vollmer as an investor, spoke with purchasing expert Dr. Ulrich Piepel, read the annual reports in detail, took a closer look at the new AI feature ‘ChatCFX’ and spoke with CEO Dirk Schäfer several times.
This time, Crowdfox is presented in detail in the Handelsblatt Start-up Check. As a company that has existed since 2014 (back then as a comparison and shopping platform for consumers), but was reformed in 2020 by the new Managing Director Dirk Schäfer. Crowdfox is now in its fourth year as a SaaS provider for the optimization of C-parts management in the business customer sector. “We will achieve a high degree of automation that was previously not possible,” says Schäfer.
As it moves into the future, Crowdfox benefits from the past. This is because the SaaS solution is based on a database that now contains over 50 million items – from office supplies to materials and workwear to chemical consumables. This means that buyers can quickly gain transparency with just a few clicks. The new ‘ChatCFX’ feature further speeds up the process. A test version has been in use since the beginning of April; one of the pilot customers is the DAX-listed company BASF.
