Two exciting days at the trade fair for procurement
Hamburg: At this year’s trade fair for digitalization and innovations in purchasing, which took place from June 22 to 23 in Hamburg, there were again many interesting presentations, pitches as well as numerous trade fair exhibitors on site. Crowdfox was also represented at the trade fair and used the days to exchange ideas and to present the software solution for indirect procurement.
This year, Crowdfox was represented with its own booth at the trade fair, in addition to a panel discussion on the topic of transparency and platform economy. Interested visitors were given on-site explanations and demonstrations of the eProcurement solution for indirect purchasing, including the added value of the unique UTIN® technology developed in-house.
On the first day of the Procurement Summit, CEO Dirk Schäfer hosted a panel discussion on one of three stages on the topic of “Transparency through platform economy”. The question was raised whether classic supplier management has had its day and what opportunities and risks arise from greater transparency.
Together with Dr. Philipp Böckmann (BASF), Christian Schaumann (Rational), Henning Hofmann (Beiersdorf) and Matthias Soller (Sonepar), the Crowdfox CEO discussed the respective aspects in an informative manner. Here, a differentiated view was offered from different perspectives – both from corporate and mid-sized companies as well as from the supplier’s point of view. Summing up the initial question of whether traditional supplier management has had its day, the panel participants agreed that traditional supplier management has not completely had its day, but needs to adapt to the digital transformation and the associated structural changes. Collaborative working through digital platforms in particular is essential.
