Röhm GmbH, a leading global chemical company headquartered in Darmstadt, has chosen Crowdfox to optimize its purchasing processes. The project was launched at the end of September 2024, with the go-live planned for Q1 2025 in Germany, the USA and China.
Röhm: innovator and industry leader
Röhm supplies customers in fast-growing markets such as the automotive industry, the construction sector and medical technology. The products – methacrylates and PMMA molding compounds under the brand name PLEXIGLAS® – enable a wide range of everyday applications – from paints and varnishes to automotive rear lights and road markings.
With production and research sites in Europe, North America and China and around 2,850 employees, Röhm is one of the leading players in methacrylate chemistry. Since its spin-off from the Evonik Group in 2019, Röhm has been operating as an independent company under the management of the US private equity fund Advent International.
Crowdfox optimizes the procurement process
Röhm is implementing Crowdfox as a punch-out shop that is connected directly to the company’s ERP system, SAP S/4HANA. The solution offers, among other things:
- UTIN® Matching for precise product allocation – allowing items to be found and effectively compared in seconds,
- Supplier onboarding: Integration of more than 100 suppliers in Germany, China and the USA,
- Analytics dashboards for data-based decision-making,
- Connection of various global marketplaces.
A particular highlight is the user-friendly platform, which will be available in German, English and Chinese. This enables an optimized product search in the respective national languages.
“With Crowdfox, we want to realize both monetary and time savings. For our Indirect Spend with several 10,000 orders per year, we see great potential for optimization through item search and procurement with Crowdfox. The company is cloud-native and also a neutral SaaS provider without its own marketplace. The platform enables us to integrate all our suppliers independently. We were particularly impressed by the ease of use and the precise search results, which Crowdfox impressively demonstrated in the demos,” says Dr. Benjamin Wenn, Head of Technical Procurement at Röhm GmbH.
Future-oriented purchasing processes
With the introduction of Crowdfox, Röhm is pursuing the goal of sustainably increasing efficiency, transparency and user-friendliness in the procurement process. The comprehensive solution will help to make purchasing decisions on a sound basis and simplify internal processes.
Crowdfox is looking forward to supporting Röhm GmbH as a customer in the digitalization and optimization of its purchasing processes.
